We provide considerable support to all students when they are considering their next steps. The whole process of preparing to progress from post 16 education is a major commitment of time and effort in its own right. Post 16 students are often surprised at how much has to be researched and done in preparing an effective strategy for leaving the post 16 environment.

MV16 will help you to prepare for what comes next in a way that keeps opportunities open and maximises your potential. We have a concerted approach to offering opportunities to those students whose families have not previously had access to higher education. Considerable specialist support enables us to provide individual guidance on subject choices and opportunities. We have a well-stocked Careers Library with information about higher education as well as employment opportunities.

We also visit the East Midlands Higher Education Fair to provide further advice and guidance to students, alongside the opportunities for students to attend university open days. Towards the end of the summer term, we organise an 18+ Progression Event for our Year 12 students. Here they receive dedicated guidance from their teachers, former students, local universities, gap year organisations and regional employers.
