This course will give students specialist skills, knowledge and understanding of sport and physical activity which, when gained alongside other vocational or academic qualifications, can allow them access to Higher Education on sports-related programmes, or in preparation for employment in Sport. It is also suitable for students who wish to progress to Further Education (FE) or Higher Education (HE) in other sector or subject areas. This qualification is a similar size to an A level.

The topics that you study will be invaluable at a personal level and will help you to be better at sport, no matter what your standard. This course also opens up a number of career options, for example: sport scientist, physiotherapist, exercise or fitness trainer, the active leisure industry, or working for a national governing body.
The course will also help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for, especially in the sporting sectors.
All of the units for this qualification are internally assessed and are then externally moderated by Examination Board Visiting Moderators. There are four mandatory units plus three optional units.
